Leila Ben Hassen

Misunderstanding is almost never a question of vocabulary

I am Leila Ben Hassen, born in Tunisia and living in the province of Vicenza. I work in intercultural mediation: I stand between two people who need to understand each other and share neither the language nor the assumptions.

What gets lost in a conversation is rarely a word. It is what each side takes for granted: how you ask for help, how much you tell a stranger, what a silence means. My job is to make that assumption visible to both, without taking the place of either.

Every assignment is covered by professional confidentiality. I do not publish cases, names or the stories of the people I accompany.
